The Acoustics of the Spirit
"He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God." — John 1:11-12
What separates the people who hear God clearly from those who don't? Not talent, not position, not how long you've walked with Him — Scripture says the difference between the haves and the have-nots is simply that some heard and received the Word of the Lord. And God speaks in more ways than we expect: a vision to Abram, a dream in the night, a wave of compassion that moved Jesus to heal, a thought that doesn't seem to be your own. Think of how many ways you can say "I love you" — a look, a gift, an act of service, an embrace. God is communicating constantly; most of us just never learned to listen.
In Part 2 of Discerning the Voice of God, Pastor Mark helps you pick up the acoustics of the Spirit — the patterns and tones God uses to speak. Drawing from John 1, Job 33, and Acts 2, you'll learn the two requirements for hearing the Word of the Lord, how aligning your desire with your attention gives revelation direction, and why God poured out His Spirit so that a whole host of ordinary people — not just prophets — would know His voice.
